Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join a dedicated mechanical engineering team in Niceville. This role is ideal for someone with experience in rapid prototyping, a in Department of Defense (DOD) projects, and a keen eye for design for manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Develop models from concept design and design mounts, enclosures for electronics, considering g-shock and vibration.
• Create 3D parts for proof of concept and then machine the part for the final application.
• Design with variable tolerances depending on the application.
• Engage in research and development, focusing on prototyping and design for manufacturability.

Essential Skills

• Experience in mechanical engineering and mechanical design.
• Proficiency in design software such as Creo and SolidWorks.
• Knowledge of missile airframe design and 3D modeling.
• Familiarity with rapid prototyping and machining parts.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Over 6 years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer.
• Experience with DOD projects.
• Capability to oversee a mechanical design team.
• Experience with design for manufacturability.

Work Environment

This role involves working in diverse settings, including office, prototyping, testing, and manufacturing areas. The company offers a small company culture with a visible role and vertically integrated structure. Negotiable PTO and holiday benefits are also provided.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Niceville, FL.

The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $75.00/hr.
