Licensed Practical Nurse Outpatient

Job Summary:

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides quality nursing care to patients across all age groups, respecting patient rights and dignity. The role involves working within the nursing scope of practice, supporting clinic operations including stocking rooms and assisting with medical supply orders. The LPN may screen calls and assist mid-level providers after hours. This position requires knowledge of medical terminology, ability to work in patient care settings, and familiarity with psychiatric patients. New graduates are accepted, with a preference for hospital experience. Responsibilities: Required Skills & Certifications:

• Graduate from an LPN/LVN school.
• Current LPN license in good standing in the State of Alaska.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and patient care procedures.
• Ability to work effectively in a clinical patient care setting.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• One year of hospital nursing experience preferred.
• IV certification course completion preferred.
• Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Certification preferred.

Special Considerations:

• May be requested to assist mid-level providers after hours but not as a first responder on call.
• Work includes care for psychiatric patients.
• Use of office and medical equipment such as multi-line phones, computers, dynamapp, and thermometers.

Scheduling:

• Work schedule and shifts are determined by clinic needs; may include after-hours assistance.
• Not required to take first responder on-call duties.
