The primary responsibility of this position is to provide a full array of psychological services to inpatient adults with severe, persistent mental illness, including but not limited to individual and group psychotherapy, psychological assessments, and individualized treatment and behavioral planning. The ideal candidate will have broad-based knowledge of psychological theory, psychopathology, assessment, and treatment approaches, along with clinical experience treating a wide range of clinical presentations, such as patients with severe and persistent mental illness, co-occurring substance use disorders, intellectual and developmental disabilities, neurocognitive, and characterological disorders.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Providing individual, group and family psychotherapy;Conducting psychological evaluations;Performing behavioral, substance abuse, and other types of assessments and treatments;Determining violence and suicide risk;Assessing and treating various psycholegal issues, including capacity to proceed and sexual offending;Developing comprehensive treatment plans;Offering testimony in civil commitment and/or other legal proceedings as neededSupporting the training programs supported by the hospital and the Psychology department, including, when appropriate supervising predoctoral interns, Master's level and undergraduate practicum students, and serving as a faculty member of the predoctoral internship program; andOffering expert didactic training for students and other staff, as needed.Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management PreferencesRecruitment Range: $82,857.00 - $136,714.00*A Sign-on bonus of $15,000 may be offered to the successful applicant(s) of this posting, contingent on the 2025-2026 Budget Approval.Candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they meet the minimum education and experience listed on the vacancy announcement.The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)/ Management Preferences are not required.
