Critical Care/ICU Nurse Practitioner

Clinical Role:

o Seeking a board certified nurse practitioner or physician assistant with critical care experience
o Must have post training critical care experience
o Active Illinois license required at time of presentation
o IMLC not accepted
o Join a collaborative ICU team providing care across Neuro, Cardiac, and Medical ICU step-down units
o High-acuity environment with support from fellows, residents, and attending physicians
o Manage approximately 10-15 patients per day
o Develop and implement treatment plans for critically ill patients
o Perform bedside procedures including central line and arterial line placement
o Manage post-operative cardiovascular surgery patients
o Provide care for neurocritical care patients, including subdural hemorrhage and EVD patients
o Participate in the management of patients requiring VADs, VA ECMO, and heart transplant support
o Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care
o Three APPs provide coverage across Neuro, Cardiac, and Medical ICU step-down units
o Pulmonary patients managed in a step-down setting with support from an on-site Pulmonary Fellow
o Trauma and NICU residents are on-site
o Attending physicians available for consultation and support
o Prior critical care APP experience required
o Experience with neurocritical care, cardiovascular critical care, VADs, ECMO, and transplant patients preferred
o Must be comfortable working independently in a high-acuity environment
o Night shifts only
o Monday-Sunday availability
o Schedule: 7:00p-7:00a
o Minimum of three consecutive shifts required
o Providers must have one day off after working six consecutive days
o EMR: Epic
