Job Summary:
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Registered Nurse (RN) Madison, Wisconsin. This position involves providing specialized care to critically ill newborns and infants within a Level IV NICU. The role requires delivering advanced diagnostic and therapeutic services to high-acuity neonates undergoing surgical procedures, medical treatments, and post-op recovery, while supporting families through family-centered care initiatives.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, Monday through Friday, 36 hours per week, with 2-3 weekend shifts required every six weeks.
• Required Qualifications: Valid Wisconsin RN license or equivalent compact license, minimum of 2 years of recent inpatient RN experience in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) with at least 1 full year in a Level IV NICU, BLS and NRP certification, Epic electronic charting experience, strong skills in managing post-op patients, g-tubes, trach/vents, and various modes of ventilation.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with post-op patients, g-tubes, trach/vents management, and invasive/noninvasive ventilation modalities.
• Additional Information: The role involves floating to all units including Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and brick-and-mortar support from interdisciplinary teams including respiratory, physical therapy, radiology, and pharmacy. The unit cares for neonates ranging from 29-34 weeks gestation and up to full term, with a maximum census of 26 beds. The unit utilizes advanced equipment such as ventilators (including NAVA and oscillators), whole-body cooling devices, and telemetry monitoring. Candidates must pass strict telemetry and cardiac rhythm identification assessments with up to three attempts allowed.
