Custodial Worker

Lead Custodian

Serve as a lead custodian and perform leadership tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Operate custodial equipment such as floor machines, buffers, and vacuums.

Perform general cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, stripping, waxing, and buffing floors.

Clean and sanitize restrooms including showers, toilets, sinks, floors, walls, and mirrors; empty trash.

Clean offices, classrooms, and facilities by dusting, vacuuming, shampooing carpets, washing walls and windows, and organizing work areas.

Maintain grounds by collecting trash and identifying maintenance needs.

Maintain basic records and prepare routine reports on facility conditions and supply needs.

Perform light maintenance on custodial equipment.

Train and support new custodial staff.

Knowledge of custodial tools, equipment, and cleaning procedures.

Ability to perform physically demanding tasks.

Attention to detail and cleanliness standards.

Basic reporting and record-keeping skills.

Leadership and training capability.

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

Prior custodial or janitorial experience preferred.

Requires standing, walking, bending, lifting, and repetitive physical activity.

May involve indoor and outdoor work environments.

Ability to operate cleaning machinery and handle cleaning materials safely.
