We are seeking a dedicated Forklift Operator to join our logistics and warehouse team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating various types of material handling equipment, including forklifts, reach trucks, cherry pickers, and clamp trucks, to efficiently load, unload, and transport goods within the warehouse. Your expertise will ensure smooth warehouse operations, accurate inventory management, and adherence to safety standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong warehouse experience, excellent manual handling skills, and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.

Duties

• Safely operate forklifts, reach trucks, cherry pickers, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and Hi-Lo equipment to load and unload shipments.
• Assist with order picking using barcode scanning systems and ensure accurate selection of products for shipment.
• Manage inventory by organizing stock in designated areas and conducting regular stock counts.
• Support shipping and receiving processes by verifying incoming and outgoing shipments against documentation.
• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on equipment to ensure optimal operation.
• Follow all OSHA safety protocols and warehouse safety standards during daily operations.
• Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to coordinate distribution activities and optimize workflow.
• Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) for tracking inventory movements and updating records.
• Handle heavy lifting tasks manually when necessary, adhering to manual handling guidelines.
• Ensure proper materials handling techniques are used during all operations to prevent damage or injury.

Qualifications

• Proven experience operating forklift trucks, reach trucks, cherry pickers, clamp trucks, and other material handling equipment.
• Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and barcode scanning for logistics.
• Familiarity with shipping & receiving procedures and inventory management practices.
• Understanding of warehouse safety standards in production environments, including OSHA regulations.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately for inventory counts and measurements.
• Strong manual handling skills with an emphasis on safe lifting techniques.
• Previous experience in warehouse distribution or warehouse supervision is preferred.
• Basic troubleshooting skills for equipment repair and maintenance.
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in fast-paced environments.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team in diverse warehouse operations.
