Surgical Technologist
Location: Decorah, Iowa
Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.
Schedule: Position is primarily 8 hour shifts, Monday to Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Hours may fluctuate slightly based on surgery case load, with potential starts as early as 6:00 AM. Includes on-call rotation, approximately 1 night per every 2 week pay period, and every 5th to 6th weekend. Holiday call rotation is also included.
Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist to support various surgical specialties including General Surgery, Orthopedics, ENT, OBGYN, Podiatry, Urology, and Dental. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining a sterile environment and assisting surgical teams before, during, and after procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing the operating room and ensuring all necessary equipment is sterilized and ready for surgery.
- Support surgical teams during procedures by passing instruments and anticipating the needs of the surgeons.
- Maintain a clean and organized surgical area.
- Follow all safety and surgical protocols to ensure patient safety and compliance with regulations.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:
- Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program.
- Surgical Technologist Certification is preferred.
- State of Iowa Mandatory Reporter training required.
- American Heart Association BLS certification required.
- Must reside within 30 minutes of the facility while on-call.
