THE OPPORTUNITY

The Propane Service Coordinator plays a critical role in keeping our field operations running smoothly while delivering the exceptional customer service that is at the heart of our culture.

You will coordinate daily service operations, communicate directly with customers and technicians, schedule service calls and inspections, support propane installations and repairs, and help manage critical inventory and administrative functions.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Scheduling & Dispatch

• Plan and organize daily service work orders.
• Prioritize service calls based on urgency, customer needs, and technician availability.
• Dispatch service technicians efficiently to maximize productivity and customer satisfaction.
• Cross-train to assist with route-driver dispatching when needed.
• Coordinate emergency service calls and maintain technician on-call schedules.

Exceptional Customer Service

• Serve as a primary point of contact for customers regarding service needs and appointments.
• Answer incoming calls and inquiries with professionalism and urgency.
• Schedule, confirm, and reschedule customer appointments as needed.
• Provide customers with timely updates when technicians are delayed or redirected due to emergency situations, including propane gas leaks.
• Resolve customer concerns and service issues while maintaining a positive, solutions-oriented approach.
• Represent Star-Tex Propane's commitment to Exceptional Customer Service in every interaction.

Inventory & Administration

• Manage new and rebuilt propane tank inventory.
• Maintain inventory of parts, fittings, and service-related materials.
• Enter and maintain purchase orders.
• Process billing and service paperwork.
• Maintain, scan, and organize equipment lease agreements and gas safety checks.
• Keep records accurate, complete, and up to date.

Billing & Profitability

• Review completed work orders for accuracy and required documentation.
• Ensure services, parts, and labor are properly documented and billed.
• Identify missing information or documentation before work orders are finalized.
• Help ensure every completed service call is billed accurately to maximize profitability.

Safety & Compliance

• Ensure field service scheduling and operations follow company policies and procedures.
• Support compliance with applicable government and propane industry safety regulations.
• Treat safety as a priority when coordinating service calls, technicians, and emergency responses.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in dispatching, customer service, or a service-based industry such as propane, energy, HVAC, plumbing, or a similar field.

Technical Skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Comfortable navigating databases and computer systems.
• Experience with scheduling or dispatch software preferred.
• Ability to learn industry-specific software and processes.

COMPENSATION $24.00–$28.00 PER HOUR
