Location 1203 Poplar Ave,Memphis, TN, 38104,United States Base Pay $47,840.00 - $74,750.00 / Year Employee Type Full-Time Required Degree High school Travel 15% Manage Others No Description The Communications Coordinator works as part of the development team, with supervision from the Development & Communications Manager, to lead CHOICES' digital presence, media relations, and marketing efforts. This position maintains and redesigns CHOICES' website, manages social media and email marketing, coordinates media relations, and executes marketing plans and vendor relationships across clinics and service lines. This role also supports community engagement and leads the Memphis volunteer program. This position may be hybrid, with in-person work required. Requirements Digital & Social Media Ensure an active, on-brand, consistent social media presence across CHOICES' digital platforms, in coordination with the Social Media Specialist Support monthly email marketing campaigns in coordination with the Development & Communications Manager, including graphic design Make website updates aligned with organizational strategy; lead comprehensive redesign of the CHOICES website Track and analyze social media, email marketing, and website analytics to inform strategy Marketing & Brand Manage and execute marketing plans for both clinics and individual service lines, ensuring grant compliance Coordinate with graphic designers on assets such as annual reports, brochures, and ads Manage design and ordering of CHOICES-branded merchandise, ensuring alignment with brand and values Create and send patient-facing marketing collateral via EMR Manage relationships with external marketing vendors, monitoring campaigns and recommending adjustments Media Relations Field incoming press and media requests, coordinating responses with the Development & Communications Manager Develop press releases, statements, and talking points Support spokesperson preparation and staff briefings ahead of interviews and media appearances Maintain relationships with media contacts and track coverage Community & Volunteer Engagement Support community engagement and outreach, including event planning, community partnerships, and tabling at community events Lead recruitment, training, and supervision of the Memphis volunteer program, expanding engagement and community-building opportunities Collaborate with the Community Outreach Coordinator to support Carbondale-based outreach programs Organizational Support Contribute to department planning, yearly goals, and fundraising efforts Support internal staff communications Summary Qualifications Required : High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred 2 years of overall professional experience required, with 1-2 years in communications and/or marketing preferred Supportive of comprehensive reproductive and sexual healthcare, including abortion care, midwifery, and gender-affirming care. Proficient in WordPress, Google Suite, Microsoft Office, data entry, and spreadsheet management Knowledge of social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube) Basic graphic design skills and/or experience with tools like Canva, Adobe Creative Suite Familiarity with communications and public relations best practices and current trends Strong written and oral communication skills Effective at working with others to achieve common goals Skilled at cultivating strong relationships internally and externally Successful track record in setting priorities, with keen analytic, organizational, and problem-solving skills Supportive of comprehensive reproductive and sexual healthcare, including abortion care, midwifery, and gender-affirming care Demonstrates integrity, credibility, and dedication to the mission, vision, and values of CHOICES Preferred : Experience handling media inquiries and supporting spokesperson or interview preparation Familiarity with grant compliance requirements as they relate to marketing and patient communications Experience leading or contributing to website redesign projects, including familiarity with UX/content planning Experience managing vendor relationships and monitoring contracted services or campaigns Basic video editing experience Experience in reproductive health, healthcare, or social justice sectors Understanding of the post-Dobbs reproductive healthcare landscape Working Conditions: This role is primarily performed in an office setting and requires regular talking and hearing, along with frequent sitting at a computer for content and website work, and occasional standing or walking while tabling at community events or supporting media appearances.
