Registered Nurse Operating Room

Job Summary:

Assess, plan, and provide specialized perioperative nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures in the operating room. Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes during surgical interventions.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Administer preoperative and postoperative care while preparing patients for surgery and ensuring smooth recovery.
  
  
• 
  Assist surgeons and operating room staff by maintaining sterile environments and handling surgical instruments.
  
  
• 
  Monitor and document patient vitals, anesthesia levels, and operative procedures throughout surgeries.
  
  
• 
  Respond promptly to intraoperative emergencies, ensuring patient safety and proper intervention.
  
  
• 
  Educate patients and their families about perioperative procedures and post-surgical care instructions.
  
  
• 
  Adhere to all facility policies, safety protocols, and infection control standards.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Hold an active RN license with a minimum of 2 years of perioperative nursing experience.
  
  
• 
  Demonstrate proficiency in handling orthopedic, general, urology, gynecology, ENT, and vascular procedures.
  
  
• 
  Possess current BLS certification; ACLS preferred.
  
  
• 
  Exhibit strong teamwork, initiative, and excellent communication skills.
  
  
• 
  Ability to manage high patient acuity and adapt in fast-paced surgical environments.
  
  
• 
  Experience with Meditech or Expanse EMR systems is preferred.
