Job Summary:
The Registered Dietician provides medical nutrition therapy (MNT) for inpatients and outpatients, focusing on chronic disease management and nutrition education across the life cycle. This role involves performing assessments, developing nutrition care plans, counseling patients, and administering special therapies. The dietician serves as a subject matter expert for complex cases, participates in interdisciplinary care, and provides education to healthcare staff and the community. A minimum of two years' clinical nutrition experience and BLS certification are required. Responsibilities:
- Perform nutrition assessments and develop individualized nutrition care plans.
- Provide counseling and education on food selection and meal preparation for disease management and prevention.
- Administer special therapies and follow-up care as needed.
- Serve as a subject matter expert overseeing medical nutrition therapy for complex and high-risk patients.
- Provide in-service education and training to nursing staff, medical staff, students, and healthcare personnel.
- Modify patient profiles based on nutritional needs, food intolerances, and preferences.
- Participate in interdisciplinary care conferences to develop or update patient care plans.
- Provide outpatient MNT services to adults and family members referred by physicians.
- Perform quality assurance checks on food service department operations.
- Deliver nutrition-related presentations and education to the community and food service personnel.
- Prepare reports and documentation to maintain regulatory accreditation.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's Degree in Dietetics from an accredited college or university.
- Completion of a Didactic Program in Dietetics accredited by ACEND.
- Current registration with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
- Minimum two years of recent clinical nutrition experience, preferably three years.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
- Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) credential.
- Experience planning regular and modified diets in a healthcare facility.
- Work involves serving as a subject matter expert and educator within a healthcare setting.
- Participation in interdisciplinary teams and care conferences is required.
- Must be able to perform quality assurance and maintain compliance with regulatory standards.
- Monday through Friday schedule, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
