This position requires someone who can command a stage, face a camera, address parents, student-athletes, coaching staff, media professionals, and community leaders, and deliver one unmistakable message: this represents a new school category. You will transform student results, athlete testimonials, and institutional vision into a story that every stakeholder in the organization can communicate with precision and conviction. Then you will construct the apparatus that validates it through feature profiles, video production, editorial content, data-driven narratives, earned press, and public appearances. The trajectory is ambitious. Initially, you will create from nothing: positioning, evidence, tone, content systems, media relations, and credibility. As brand recognition expands, you will guide the creative function and establish standards for how TSA presents itself publicly. What You Will Be Doing Construct the foundational narrative and tailored messaging for families, student-athletes, coaching staff, press, and policy stakeholders Create evidence-backed student and athlete feature stories, outcome-driven data narratives, video assets, and editorial pieces Secure earned media placements, cultivate thought leadership, and lead communications strategy during critical events Serve as the public face of TSA across camera appearances, keynote stages, live events, podcast interviews, and media engagements Define creative excellence standards and ensure unified, credible voice across the organization What You Won’t Be Doing Executing paid digital advertising, media buying, outbound lead generation, or performance marketing tactics Operating enrollment backend systems, CRM platform management, or admissions process workflows Pursuing vanity metrics like content output volume, impression counts, or superficial engagement statistics Staying behind presentation decks, approval committees, or internal branding processes rather than acting as the external voice Leading curriculum development, academic strategy, fundraising initiatives, or investor communication as primary duties Chief Communications Officer Key Responsibilities Generate a sustained pipeline of families who comprehend and trust TSA's premium AI-driven sports-education approach prior to entering the enrollment process. Basic Requirements 7+ years of experience in persuasive public-facing roles Demonstrated ownership of narrative strategy and public voice for a startup, mission-driven organization, media property, or similar externally-focused brand Established on-camera and on-stage credibility as a speaker, moderator, founder, journalist, content creator, or organizational representative Capability to design brand narrative frameworks and audience messaging systems from the ground up Proficiency in adjusting communication style across families, athletes, coaches, press, and civic audiences Direct experience leveraging AI-powered content creation tools to produce or oversee premium-quality materials Genuine enthusiasm for sports and youth athletics Based in Austin or prepared to relocate to Austin, TX for in-person work U.S. work authorization Nice-to-have Requirements Professional foundation in editorial work, journalism, broadcast media, communications, strategic sales, or creator-driven brand development Proven ability to convert outcome metrics into compelling narratives for affluent families or high-intent decision-makers History of securing press coverage independent of paid acquisition strategies Experience providing candid input to executive leadership while safeguarding messaging integrity and institutional credibility About Sports Academy Texas Sports Academy is Where Future Champions Excel in Academics and Athletics Traditional schools force student-athletes to choose between excelling in academics or committing to their sport. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record.
