Electrician

Eaton's ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Skilled Electrician to join our team Fibrebond team in Minden, LA!

You will work an average of 54 hours per week (including OT) between 6 am - 4:30 pm.

There is overtime every other Saturday from 6 am - 2:30 pm.

The hourly range for this position is $20.90-$28.00 per hour.

Relocation is available to those living more than 50 miles from our Minden, LA site.

What you'll do:

The Skilled Electrician effectively read blueprints to accurately install all required electrical components, bend and install complex conduit configurations, pull and terminate wire and large power cable, and troubleshoot all electrical problems. Work is performed under moderate supervision to complete semi-complex tasks and assist teammates in mid-level work for development and training. You will use hand and power tools safely and effectively to complete all tasks.

In this role, you will:
• Install both standard and more complex conduit and electrical components.
• Read blueprints to determine consistent placement of all components
• Lead crews.
• Pull wire and/or cable for smaller gauge electrical circuits, low voltage alarms and signals, high-power large-gauge circuits through conduit and wireway.
• Anchor and secure all equipment.
• Ensure proper grounding.
• Properly buss and torque gear.
• Trouble shoot electrical problems.

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution.

• Minimum of 3 years electrical experience
• Experience bending conduit.
• Experience reading blueprints and using hand and power tools.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Electrical skills certification.
• Journeyman-like experience.
• NEC knowledge and experience.
• Experience leading crews.

Skills:

• Basic shop math skills and the ability to read and use a tape measure.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to read blueprints.
• Must possess a strong, verifiable track record of attendance and punctuality
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to communicate effectively both written and orally.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of trade secrets.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to wear PPE such as protective eyewear, hearing protection, and steel toes boots with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Ability to lift to 50 lbs., work from a ladder including ascending and descending, stand for long periods of time, bend, crouch, use manual dexterity to grasp and manipulate objects with precise small movements with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Ability to work outside in all weather conditions.
