Job Title: RN - PCU Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Cardiac Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-Hour Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum of 1 year Cardiac Telemetry or PCU experience License: Active RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Cardiac and hemodynamic monitoring skills - Cardiac strip and rhythm interpretation - Experience with arterial lines and titration of drips - Non-invasive ventilator care experience (BiPAP/CPAP) - Experience with vascular lines, chest tubes, or drains - Post-procedure site care Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit. The unit has 18 beds with an average daily census of 18. Responsibilities include caring for general medical patients who require continuous monitoring of cardiac, respiratory, hemodynamic, and neurologic status. Common diagnoses include NSTEMI, status post STEMI, and heart failure. You will manage patients undergoing cardiac interventional procedures, electrophysiology procedures, and thoracic surgeries. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:3 or 1:4, depending on interventions. Support within the department includes CNAs and a charge nurse. Rapid response and respiratory therapy services are available 24/7. Technology and equipment used includes electronic medical records and telemetry monitoring systems. You may float within the critical care division or Intermediate Care as needed. Weekend rotation and holiday work may be required.
