Laboratory Technician

Lab Technician (Hardware Measurement & Testing) Overview Our client, a leading technology company known for its cloud and hardware innovation, is seeking a skilled Lab Technician to support the development of advanced cloud infrastructure hardware. This role focuses on signal and power integrity work, including hands-on lab-based measurements supporting hardware development efforts. The ideal candidate will bring direct experience with electronic measurement equipment and a strong technical foundation in computer hardware. This is an onsite position based in Redmond, WA, requiring five days per week in the lab environment. What You'll Do Taking VNA (Vector Network Analyzer) and Scope measurements on hardware components Analyzing information to determine, recommend, and plan hardware layouts, including computers and peripheral equipment modifications Assembling and modifying existing equipment to meet specialized testing needs Building, testing, and modifying product prototypes using working or theoretical models, including computer simulations Evaluating factors such as reporting formats, cost constraints, and security requirements to determine hardware configurations Monitoring equipment functionality and making necessary modifications to ensure systems conform to specifications Conferring with engineering staff to evaluate hardware/software interfaces and overall system performance requirements Providing training and support to system designers and users The Ideal Candidate 2+ years of hands-on Lab Technician experience 2+ years of Computer Hardware experience 2+ years of Electronics experience Demonstrated hands-on experience taking measurements on electronic systems (data center technician experience alone is not sufficient) VNA measurement experience strongly preferred Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Excellent verbal and written communication skills Creative and detail-oriented with strong teamwork skills Basic mentoring skills to support and provide constructive feedback to colleagues Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles used in producing precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models Familiarity with transmission, broadcasting, switching, control, and operation of telecommunications systems Practical knowledge of engineering science and technology applications Understanding of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware/software, including applications and programming Experience with computer applications and design software related to the engineering field Bachelor's or associate's degree in engineering preferred 5 years of related experience required Resumes must accurately reflect genuine hands-on experience; candidates should be prepared to speak authentically to their technical background during assessments Reasons To Love It Opportunity to work on cutting-edge cloud infrastructure hardware development Company-provided Surface laptop equipment for the duration of the assignment Consistent Monday-Friday schedule, 40 hours per week, with no overtime required Potential for contract extension based on project budget and performance Collaborative team environment working alongside experienced engineering staff Opportunity to gain exposure to advanced VNA and Scope measurement techniques in a leading-edge lab setting
