LOGISTICS DRIVER

We are currently offering up to a $10,000 sign-on bonus for Logistics Driver new hires. Bonuses are made in 2 equal installments at 90 days and 180 days of employment. Carter Machinery Company, the authorized Caterpillar dealer serving Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware and Washington D.C., is hiring a Logistics Driver in Myersville, Maryland . The Logistics Driver is responsible for the safe, efficient transportation of industrial/commercial parts and construction equipment to customer locations and Carter Machinery branches over established routes. Candidates should have a minimum of two years of CDL driving experience, including heavy‑haul and tractor/lowboy; a valid CDL A licensure is required, and a high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. Requirements for the Logistics Driver position include: Thorough knowledge of DOT and Company safety standards and regulations. Must have an excellent driving record. Capable of operating a 5 or 6 axle configuration truck. Must be able to conduct inspections of truck to ensure it is in good working order. Must be able to secure cargo for transport using chains and/or binders to conform with local, state and federal regulations. Must have mechanical aptitude with ability to perform basic truck maintenance tasks. Must have the ability to interact professionally with customers and all levels of personnel within organization. Must be able to perform in situations requiring speed and tight deadlines. Knowledge of rental, construction, and generator equipment; must be able to operate, demonstrate and instruct proper equipment operation. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Must possess ability to operate a forklift. Must be able to work additional hours as required by job and customer demand. Promote a positive customer experience. Physical requirements must be met for the Logistics Driver job, including frequently sitting for extended periods of time. The employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally move and/or lift up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Starting Compensation Range: $28.53 - $41.32 per hour Actual base pay may vary based on factors such as experience, skills, qualifications, education, geographic location, and other business needs. In addition to base pay, total compensation may include participation in performance‑based incentive programs, such as discretionary or non‑discretionary plans.
