Projects span a wide range of healthcare delivery topics and offer meaningful opportunities for methodological leadership and collaboration.The Quantitative Methods Core (QMC) provides statistical and data science support across a broad research portfolio, including serving as a Data Coordinating Center for multicenter studies, supporting clinical and pragmatic trials, and conducting research using large administrative and real-world datasets to evaluate healthcare outcomes and policy.As western Massachusetts’ only academic medical center and tertiary care provider, Baystate Health has a strong tradition of training healthcare professionals, delivering high-quality care, and advancing medical knowledge. Our organization actively works to increase diverse representation across all levels.Position Highlights:Serve as a key member of the Quantitative Methods Core, supporting and leading high-impact research.Independently consult with investigators on study design, analysis strategies, and interpretation of results.Conduct complex statistical analyses and contribute to grant proposals, manuscripts, and presentations.Work with large, real-world datasets, including electronic health records, claims, and registry data.Collaborate in a supportive, academically rich environment with a strong emphasis on equity and community engagement.A collaborative and self-motivated individual with strong statistical and communication skills, who thrives in a fast-paced research setting and is eager to support methodologically rigorous work from design to dissemination.Key Responsibilities:As part of the Quantitative Methods Core, responsibilities include:Provide statistical consultation on study design, analytic strategies, and data management for new and ongoing clinical, epidemiologic, and translational research projects.Perform sample size and power calculations to support study planning and grant submissions.Conduct advanced statistical analyses using software such as SAS, R, or STATA.Query, manage, and prepare large, complex datasets—including electronic health records, claims, and registry data—for analysis.Develop statistical analysis plans and contribute detailed methods and results sections for protocols, grants, manuscripts, abstracts, and presentations.Interpret findings and provide methodological guidance throughout the research lifecycle.Deliver presentations and one-on-one consultations to support faculty development in research methods.Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary teams, including clinicians, investigators, and research staff.Independently manage multiple projects with minimal supervision and contribute to team-wide collaboration and quality assurance.Qualifications:Master’s degree in Biostatistics, Statistics, Epidemiology, or a related quantitative discipline.At least 3 years of experience in applied biostatistics within clinical, public health, or academic research environments.Strong programming skills and experience with statistical software such as SAS, R, or STATA.Demonstrated ability to support multiple projects from design to publication independently.Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.Experience with big data (e.g., EHR, claims, or registry data) is strongly preferred.Familiarity with epidemiological study designs, clinical /pragmatic trials, or health services research is a plus.THE ADVANTAGES OF WORKING WITH BAYSTATE!Be part of a mission-driven institution committed to advancing health equity and improving healthcare delivery.Collaborate with leading researchers, clinicians, and community partners across Western Massachusetts.Access rich data resources and institutional support to contribute to high-impact research.Engage in professional growth through mentorship, continuing education, and academic advancement opportunities.Excellent Compensation High-quality, low-cost medical, dental and vision insuranceGenerous PTO – up to 25 days in the first year, with scheduled earned increasesContinuing education support and reimbursementFirst Time Home Buyers Financial PackagesFarm Share Memberships403b retirement company match & annual company contribution increase based on years of serviceFree money coach advice from a certified professionalWellbeing programs that include but are not limited to mental, physical, and financial healthPet, home, auto and personal insuranceLife insuranceReimbursement for a variety of wellbeing activities, included but limited to gym membership and equipment, personal trainer, massage and so much more!Wellbeing programs that include but are not limited to mental, physical, and financial healthEducation:Masters Degree (Required)Certifications:CompensationNote: The compensation range(s) in the table below represent the base salaries for all positions at a given grade across the health system. Typically, a new hire can expect a starting salary somewhere in the lower part of the range. Actual salaries may vary by position and will be determined based on the candidate's relevant experience.
