Lead Teacher & Teacher Assistant – Early Childhood Education

We are seeking dependable, energetic, nurturing, and professional individuals to join our team as Lead Teachers and Teacher Assistants .

LEAD TEACHER

The Lead Teacher is responsible for creating and maintaining a safe, engaging, organized, and developmentally appropriate classroom. The ideal candidate is a strong classroom leader who enjoys working with young children and understands that high-quality childcare requires both nurturing relationships and consistent structure.

Lead Teacher Responsibilities

• Plan and implement engaging, age-appropriate learning activities and daily lessons.
• Provide instruction in early literacy, math, science, STEM, social-emotional learning, and other developmental areas.
• Maintain a structured daily classroom schedule and routine.
• Create a positive classroom environment where children feel safe, valued, and encouraged to learn.
• Supervise children closely and maintain required staff-to-child ratios.
• Monitor children's developmental progress and communicate concerns or accomplishments appropriately.
• Maintain accurate classroom records, attendance, assessments, and other required documentation.
• Communicate professionally with parents, families, administrators, and other staff members.
• Lead and provide direction to Teacher Assistants assigned to the classroom.
• Model appropriate behavior-management and classroom-management strategies.
• Maintain classroom organization, cleanliness, sanitation, and safety throughout the day.
• Assist children with meals, toileting, diapering, handwashing, rest time, transitions, and other daily needs as appropriate for the age group.
• Follow all Inspire Change Academy policies and procedures and applicable Missouri childcare licensing requirements.
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development, training, emergency drills, and center activities.
• Immediately report safety concerns, injuries, incidents, or unusual circumstances to administration.

Lead Teacher Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Early childhood education experience strongly preferred.
• CDA, Associate's degree, Bachelor's degree, or coursework in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Education, or a related field is preferred.
• Ability to effectively manage and supervise a classroom of young children.
• Strong communication, organization, and classroom-management skills.
• Dependable, punctual, professional, and able to work collaboratively with others.
• Must be willing and able to complete all required background screenings, health requirements, CPR/First Aid training, and other training required for the position.
• Must meet applicable Missouri childcare requirements for the assigned position.

TEACHER ASSISTANT

The Teacher Assistant works closely with the Lead Teacher to provide a safe, nurturing, clean, organized, and engaging environment for our scholars.

Teacher Assistant Responsibilities

• Assist the Lead Teacher with classroom instruction, learning centers, small groups, activities, and transitions.
• Actively supervise children at all times.
• Engage and interact with children rather than simply observing the classroom.
• Assist with meals, snacks, toileting, diapering, handwashing, rest time, and daily routines as needed.
• Help prepare classroom materials and learning activities.
• Support positive behavior and reinforce classroom expectations.
• Maintain a clean, sanitized, safe, and organized classroom.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, disinfect, restock, and complete assigned classroom closing duties as required.
• Properly store classroom materials, cleaning supplies, and other items to ensure child safety.
• Communicate respectfully and professionally with children, families, coworkers, and administration.
• Follow directions from the Lead Teacher and administration.
• Participate in required training, staff meetings, professional development, and emergency drills.
• Follow all ICA policies, procedures, confidentiality requirements, and applicable Missouri childcare regulations.

Teacher Assistant Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience working with children is preferred.
• Early childhood education or childcare experience is a plus.
• Must be dependable, patient, nurturing, energetic, and willing to learn.
• Ability to follow directions and work effectively as part of a team.
• Must be comfortable assisting with all aspects of caring for young children.
• Must be willing and able to complete required background screenings, CPR/First Aid training, health requirements, and other required training.
