CT Technologist - Radiology

Location: 8300 Constitution Ave NE, Albuquerque, NM 87110-7613 Compensation: $31.50 - $48.12 per hour Summary : Presbyterian is seeking a skilled and compassionate CT Tech to join our radiology department. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent patient care skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. Type of Opportunity Job Type: PRN, FTE: 0.00, Job Exempt: No, Work Shift: Varied Days and Hours Responsibilities Utilizes clinical reasoning which includes a global grasp of situations, critical thinking, decision-making, critical actions, priority setting, and escalation of concerns with associated knowledge, skills, and evidence-based guidelines in managing computerized tomographic radiograph imaging. Works on behalf of patients/significant others in representing their concerns and helping resolve ethical and clinical issues that impact the patient’s situation. Uses effective communication to elevate concerns to the appropriate leader. Goes the extra mile to attend to patient exam requests. Creates a compassionate, supportive, and therapeutic environment for patients and staff to promote comfort and healing and prevent unnecessary suffering or harm. Recognizes patient concern and reacts appropriately, including documentation of events. Educates patients before scanning procedures by explaining the procedure and answering patient questions. Involves multidisciplinary teams as well as patients/significant others to promote optimal and realistic goals and outcomes. Works with other departments to create efficient patient exam flow to avoid conflicting procedures, delays, and optimize utilization of limited technical and clinical resources. Uses high standards and evidence-based practices along with questioning, research, and evaluation skills to provide informed practice changes. Properly assesses patient condition for imaging candidacy. Performs necessary clinical and technical safety checks, screening processes, validates reasons for the exam with the patient before scanning, addresses all safety concerns before scanning, and performs red rules to ensure the right patient/right exam/right order. Ensures execution of necessary safety, calibration, and quality checks per established protocols. Does not image patients without an order or without performing necessary safety, lab, and conflicting exam reviews. Completes other clinic duties as assigned or where applicable. Qualifications Associate Degree (or higher) in a related field. Valid New Mexico Computed Tomography License (NMCT) or provisional license (NMPCT). ARRT certification required. BLS certification.
