What we are looking for:
Aleto Inc. is seeking to hire a Space Planner at one of its Government Client sites in San Antonio, TX to provide support for space planning, design, construction, closeout, and related analytical services over the client's entire leased or owned asset lifecycle. The Space Planner will manage the organization and installation of furniture projects of varying sizes and complexity. The Space Planner must be highly organized, hands-on, and customer service oriented. Additionally, we are looking for an assistant project manager who is comfortable working with general contractors, in the field or at the office.
Interview Process
If you are selected for an interview, Aleto will contact you by email to arrange an interview via an online platform, such as Microsoft Teams or by telephone. The entire interview process can average around 3 weeks from the time you are initially contacted to interview. After all candidates are interviewed, Aleto will notify you of your application status.
If an offer is extended, the start date is determined based on factors such as availability and the amount of time it takes for the government's background clearance process (depending on the client).
Space Planner-Essential Job Duties
- Conduct reviews of all client space assignments to verify effective space utilization and identify the requirements and opportunities for changes
- Assist with the development of interior projects to contribute to the clients' brand and workplace innovation strategy
- Coordinate with other client personnel and external vendors/contractors to ensure space documentation and data is accurate, conform to client's design/software standards
- Document the work and data flow processes
- Responsible for various aspects of project planning to include design, construction, furniture, moves, and post-occupancy
- Lead government agency furniture programs, including but not limited to procurement advisory services, furniture standards development, and ad hoc furniture project management
- Prepare and maintain As-Built Drawings to track all portfolio space verifying USF and Rentable Square Foot (RSF)
- Update the record drawings (XRef files in IWMS) for all client space and drawing templates using AutoCAD software
- Perform regularly scheduled site walks to validate as-built information and identify any change to space configuration
- Develop evaluations of requests for space assignments, determine the necessity for and urgency of requests, analyze personnel and equipment needs, and determine space assignment and maximum utilization, possible reassignment, rearrangement, etc.
- Conduct design meetings with clients to review furniture specifications, space plans, and finish selections
- Participate in meetings as required for project coordination with Architecture, AV/IT, Construction, etc
- Negotiate with vendors on pricing where discrepancies or discounting structure looks incorrect
- Develop space/seating scenarios for restacks and reorganizations
- Track open items with dealer and client
ALETO JOB DUTIES
- Compliance with all Aleto processes, standards, and guidelines, including utilizing the employee and intranet platforms, clocking in and/or entering time on a daily basis, submitting expense reports, providing monthly progress reports, etc.
- Participate in recurring performance development meetings with your Aleto Team Lead to discuss current job tasks, promote open dialog/feedback, recognize and celebrate wins, and review positive and purposeful approaches for meeting work-related and professional development goals.
- Attend team meetings, tri-annual company All-Hands Meetings, and other company-sponsored team-building events to foster and support Aleto's core values, vision, and culture.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Must have active HSPD-12 public trust credential
- U.S. Citizenship
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Interior Design, or Construction Management
- 4+ years related experience in delivering Architecture or Engineering professional services, including demonstrated success as the lead designer on several projects
- Expert knowledge of commercial and government office space planning, including GSA space assignment policy and BOMA space standards
- Expert knowledge of AutoCAD to efficiently use and manipulate drawings
- Ability to read and understand construction documents and blueprints
- Ability to understand and apply OSHA and ADA requirements, and all building and safety codes
TECHNICAL SKILLS:
- AutoCAD
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Proficient in Google Workspace
- Ability to learn new planning, drawing, design, and specification software
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills, must be comfortable presenting to clients and executive personnel
- Ability to write clearly and informatively, editing work for spelling and grammar, varying writing style to meet needs
