Key Responsibilities of the Registered Nurse - Critical Care

• Obtain and record initial assessments, establishing priorities based on patient age, symptoms, and psychosocial needs
• Re-assess patients systematically to track progress and intervention needs
• Develop and implement measurable, individualized care plans within Nursing Standards of Care
• Make comprehensive nursing decisions and modify care plans based on patient outcomes
• Participate in patient and significant other health education and discharge planning
• Implement and document timely interventions appropriate to patient needs
• Coordinate team assignments and delegate appropriately to ensure quality patient care

Requirements of the Registered Nurse - Critical Care

• Graduate of an accredited program for Registered Nursing
• Current New Mexico RN license or current Compact state license
• Current BLS Certification from AHA
• Current ACLS Certification from AHA
• Current TNCC Certification
• Current knowledge and skills appropriate to age/type of patient population served
