Senior Accountant

Position Summary

We are seeking a hands-on Senior Accountant to support the day-to-day accounting and finance functions of a growing manufacturing and distribution business. This role will be responsible for journal entries, account reconciliations, month-end close support, financial reporting support, audit schedules, and serving as backup across AP, AR, and other accounting functions as needed.

This position is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, dependable, proactive, and comfortable working in a lean environment where flexibility and follow-through are important.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, prepaids, reclasses, and adjusting entries. Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and research variances.

Assist with month-end and year-end close.

Support preparation of financial reports, schedules, and account analysis.

Provide backup support for accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash application, and other accounting functions as needed.

Reconcile bank accounts, intercompany balances, and selected general ledger accounts.

Assist with audit support, tax support, and external reporting requests.

Support inventory, cost, and manufacturing-related accounting as needed.

Partner with operations and other departments to resolve accounting issues and improve processes.

Assist with special projects and process improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.

Minimum 4–6 years of accounting experience.

Strong experience with journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close.

ERP experience required.

Strong Excel skills required.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.

Manufacturing, inventory, or distribution experience preferred.

AP/AR support experience is a plus.
