Licensed Mental Health Therapist

Columbia Mental Health is seeking a Licensed Mental Health Therapist to join our Healthcare & Medical Services department in our Washington, DC practice. In this role, you will provide outpatient psychotherapy and related clinical services to adults, adolescents, and families experiencing a range of mental health conditions, including mood disorders, anxiety disorders, trauma‑related concerns, and co‑occurring challenges. You will complete comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments, formulate individualized treatment plans, and deliver evidence‑based interventions that are tailored to each patient’s goals, needs, and cultural background. As a key member of an inclusive, supportive, and empathetic care team, you will collaborate closely with psychiatrists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, and other clinicians to coordinate holistic, patient‑centered care. Your work will include maintaining timely, accurate clinical documentation in accordance with legal, ethical, and organizational standards; monitoring risk and safety; and participating in case consultations and interdisciplinary treatment meetings. You will communicate regularly with external providers, families, and community resources when clinically appropriate to support continuity of care and improved patient outcomes. The ideal candidate is clinically grounded, comfortable using advanced therapeutic approaches, and committed to ongoing professional development. You will have opportunities to deepen your skills in modalities such as CBT, DBT, trauma‑informed care, and other evidence‑based practices through ongoing training, supervision, and peer consultation.
