Pediatric Registered Nurse

Registered NurseThe Registered Nurse is responsible for providing direct patient care under the supervision of an RN Case Manager. Responsibilities include following the plan of care, providing treatments, and working collaboratively with the members of the team to help meet positive patient care outcomes.Duties & ResponsibilitiesFurnishes services in accordance with agency policiesPrepares clinical and progress notesPrepares equipment and materials for treatments observing aseptic techniques as requiredAssists the patient, parent, family in learning appropriate self-care techniques as requiredProvides services within agency service area as scheduled Informs the Pediatric RN Supervisor of changes in the patient's condition, immediatelyCounsels the patient, parent in meeting nursing and related needsParticipates in in-service programs Receives orders from physician or his representative according to policyOrientation of co-workersOther assigned duties as desired by the DCS and Director of Pediatric OperationsThe above statements are only meant to be a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by the employee of this job. The employee may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those stated in this description.Job Requirements (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)Graduate of an accredited nursing program.Has three years nursing experience preferred. Pediatric Home Health experience is preferred.Currently licensed as a registered nurse in the State of Texas.Complies with accepted professional standards and practice.Ability to demonstrate assessment and skills in caring for a pediatric client for Pediatric RN Supervisor.Knowledge or experience with gastric button feeding and care;Knowledge or experience with ventilators, tracheostomy and care.Demonstrates good verbal and written communication, and organization skills.Possesses and maintains current CPR certification.The employer for this position is The Pennant Group, Inc., a holding company of independent operating subsidiaries that provide healthcare services through home health and hospice agencies and senior living communities located throughout the US.
