Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in American Sign Language (ASL) or Interpreting
• National certification—credentials such as NIC from the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) or BEI certification required
• Prior experience working as a Sign Language Interpreter in educational or interpreter/translator services for the Deaf is highly desirable
• Ability to complete time-sensitive credentialing and onboarding, including district-required documentation and background checks
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with faculty, students, and families

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide interpreting services on-site, ensuring clear communication between students, staff, and peers in classrooms and school activities
• Support Deaf and hard-of-hearing students in various grade levels, empowering them to access curriculum and participate fully in their education
• Maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and cultural sensitivity at all times
• Adapt interpreting techniques to suit different age groups and learning environments as assigned
• Participate in team meetings, IEP processes, and ongoing professional development
