About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: High Risk Antepartum Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum of 1 year in antepartum or Labor & Delivery, postpartum, and newborn care in a level 1 trauma setting License: Current RN License issued by the state or a current multistate compact RN License Certifications: Required certifications include Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support, Intermediate Fetal Monitoring, and Neonatal Resuscitation Program Must-Have: - Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures - Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services while applying nursing techniques - Ability to maintain good working relationships with other employees - Good verbal and written communication skills - Some computer skills Description: Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients. Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments. Note all changes in physician orders for assigned patients. Assist the physician in the examination of patients and in performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatments. Obtain and monitor physiological data of patients. Observe the physiological manifestations of patients and intervene when necessary. Administer medication as prescribed. Initiate, regulate, and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products. Deliver patient care competently. Interact with family and patients in sharing the care plan while in the hospital and at the time of discharge. Inform patients and families of hospital procedures. Make referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel. Delegate tasks to support staff.
