Job Description: Associate Engineer II Purpose of the Job: Reporting to an appointed supervisor, (CIQM) Associate Engineers work together in multi-disciplinary teams to execute research and usability testing for a variety of projects. The Associate Engineer II is well-versed in data capture, analysis, and reporting writing and has mastered additional skills such as deliverable development, moderation, client interaction and leading internal teams. Associate Engineer II possesses a depth of domain expertise that qualifies him/her to act as project lead.

Major Responsibilities: Protocol development and edits Support of recuitment Moderation Deliverable planning and creation Client interaction and presentations Lead study team in the following: -Study room and video equipment set-up -Dry run execution -Managing test site logistics -Data entry -Data analysis -Data management -Video and data backup -Video review -Study supply tracking and inventory Report development and edits Contribute to use-related risk assessment and management Foundational understanding of human factors standards and guidance

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: MS/MA in human factors engineering, biomedical engineering, industrial engineering or related field required

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED : Demonstrable track record of ability to deploy a variety of research techniques to collect and process data across multiple areas of company’s portfolio of work (field research, usability testing, ergonomics, etc.) Demonstrable track record of optimizing data analysis for inclusion in report writing and of producing reports to final delivery standards. Capable of consistently moderating usability studies to a high-level of quality Evidence of consistent ability to observe and collect necessary data from clinical and hospital operating room settings Advanced to expert proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Proficiency in a variety of data collection software / programs (e.g. OpenClinica, R) Willingness to undergo background checks, drug/health screenings as required for research purposes Good organizational skills and ability to balance multiple projects simultaneously Evidence of effective collaboration in team settings (internal and external) WORKING CONDITIONS: Hybrid work environment at Design Science offices in Philadelphia, PA, Evanston, IL, or Munich, Germany with requirement for in-person testing Travel up to 30% of the time, domestically and internationally
