Logistics Supervisor

Description The Transportation Dispatch Supervisor is responsible for supervising, coordinating, and effectively scheduling all transportation activities for company owned and outside sub‑hauling contractors across multiple Warren CAT locations. WHAT YOU'LL DO: Supervises, directs and evaluates all activities regarding transportation within the assigned territory. Strategically plan, schedule and coordinate the delivery and pickup of WCAT assets using internal and external transportation resources. Ensures pickup and deliveries are completed within the required time frames. Maximizes efficiency and utilization through effective communication and scheduling. Regularly tracks and measures transportation efficiency and utilization by using dispatch software. Effectively communicates throughout internal departments to ensure a seamless transition of the transportation process. Provides strong analytical and conceptual thought processes with the ability to match drivers to loads while ensuring maximum asset utilization. Supervises, coaches, and trains the workforce. Schedules drivers by location to maximize each driver’s time, optimize regular time used, and minimize overtime. Follows WCAT policies and procedures regarding business correspondence with outsourced suppliers. Demonstrates and implements safe working practices in accordance with safety policies and regulations. Meets cost, productivity, accuracy, and timeline targets. Maintains metrics and analyzes data to assess performance and implement improvements. Completes management requests, special assignments, and/or projects within the specified time frames. Actively participates and provides input in weekly, monthly, and quarterly meetings. WHAT YOU'LL NEED: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or two to three years’ experience in the transportation industry and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Two years of supervisory experience preferred. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization. Basic PC skills required. Should have a working knowledge of spreadsheet, database, and web‑based computer platforms. WHY WORK WITH US? We like to take care of business and have fun doing it!
