Manufacturing Process Engineer

About the RoleDrive process improvements, reduce waste, and increase throughput and quality across manufacturing operations. This role owns the technical performance of production processes from raw material input to finished goods.Key ResponsibilitiesAnalyze and optimize existing manufacturing processes to improve yield, cycle time, and qualityLead root cause analysis and corrective action for process-related defects and downtimeDesign, specify, and implement new equipment, tooling, and process changesDevelop and maintain process documentation: work instructions, standard operating procedures, process flow diagramsPartner with Quality to ensure processes meet specification and regulatory requirementsSupport new product introduction - scale lab/pilot processes to full productionConduct time studies, capacity analysis, and line balancingLead or support continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen)Collaborate cross-functionally with Production, Maintenance, Quality, and Supply ChainEnsure all process changes comply with safety standards and do not compromise worker safetyRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Engineering (or equivalent experience)3+ years of process engineering experience in a manufacturing environmentProficiency with data analysis tools (Excel, Minitab, or similar)Experience with Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma methodologiesStrong problem-solving and root-cause analysis skillsAbility to read and interpret technical drawings and specificationsPreferred QualificationsExperience in rubber, polymer, or flooring/matting manufacturingStrong understanding of manufacturing processes (extrusion, molding, cutting, assembly, or relevant to product line)Experience with rubber pressing operations, including compression molding, press cycle times, curing parameters, and mold/tooling maintenanceExperience troubleshooting rubber press variables (temperature, pressure, dwell/cure time) to reduce scrap and improve first-pass yieldHands-on knowledge of printing processes (screen printing, digital/inkjet, or flexographic printing) as applied to product decoration or brandingExperience optimizing print quality (registration, color consistency, ink/substrate adhesion) on production printing equipmentSix Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certificationExperience supporting multi-site or cross-border manufacturing operationsFamiliarity with ERP/MES systemsPhysical RequirementsAbility to work on the production floor in a manufacturing environmentOccasional travel between sitesEqual Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
