Sanitation Operator II

River Point Farms is seeking reliable Sanitation Operators to join our onion processing plant team!

Summary:

Sanitation Operator II is an experienced sanitation role responsible for advanced cleaning and sanitation tasks, including equipment breakdown, allergen control, and verification activities. This role works with limited supervision, supports training of Sanitation I team members, and helps ensure consistent compliance with food safety and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities:

• Perform advanced sanitation of production equipment, including disassembly, cleaning, sanitizing, and reassembly.
• Execute sanitation tasks involving allergens, confined spaces, elevated work areas, and specialized equipment, following safety requirements.
• Verify sanitation effectiveness through appropriate verification methods and required documentation.
• Properly mix, use, handle, and store sanitation chemicals according to SDS and company procedures.
• Support the Sanitation Lead by assisting with task coordination, equipment readiness, and troubleshooting.
• Train and mentor other sanitation employees on sanitation procedures, chemical safety, PPE, and proper documentation.
• Identify and report opportunities for sanitation, safety, or efficiency improvements.
• Communicate equipment issues and sanitation concerns to maintenance and quality teams.
• Maintain accurate sanitation records, logs, and checklists.
• Serve as a role model for safe work practices, teamwork, and accountability.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• 2+ years of sanitation experience in a food processing or manufacturing environment.
• Understanding of safety programs and hazard controls appropriate to work environment.
• Forklift, scissor lift, or aerial lift certification or ability to obtain.
• Knowledge of sanitation procedures, food safety principles, and GMPs.
• Ability to read and understand SDS, SOPs, and sanitation documentation.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
