From building projects in your community of which you will be proud to managing complex construction processes, your skills and expertise will be put to the test every day.Project Estimator Responsibilities:Responsible for driving the day-to-day needs of all Dean Builds bid reviews and estimating processes.Assist the Business Development Director/Project Executive with all types of estimates including conceptual, schematic, design development, and construction document estimates using historical data, subcontractor input, and unit pricing in an effort to prepare for all preconstruction services.Solicit bids from subcontractors, send plans and specifications, and follow up to ensure proper coverage as necessary.Elevate and bid level subcontractor bids.Read and understand project documents, plans, specifications and requirements, to prepare estimates with Dean Builds estimating worksheet.Utilize a variety of software and systems including: Microsoft ExcelPlanswift / On-Screen TakeoffBuilding Connected / ProcorePrepare estimates including: Performing take-offs and in house estimates for all disciplinesAccess Scope and location of projectIdentify all bid/task items required to be procured on the projectBuild and review general conditions/overhead/profit with executiveAttend pre-bid meetings, inspect existing building and site conditionsDiscover, track and write bid questions and RFI'sPrepare bid qualifications, clarifications, exclusions and scope narrativesMaintain and update Vendor/Contractor bid lists and contact information.Update and maintain unit price/cost history database.Work with Project Managers throughout the life of the project to assist in pricing change order requests, as well as assisting the Project Team with a full understanding of the estimates and scope of the projects.Identify and pass on to sales team any potential opportunities identified during daily communications with vendors and customers.Assist in updating estimating procedures, bid logs, subcontractor and material vendor databases.Log all new projects for bid and secure costs from all vendors for General Conditions and Main Summary items.Make initial review of, and sign off on, all final estimate packages after review with Project Executives to ensure accuracy and completeness.Other duties that may be assigned by the VP of Business Development or Chief Estimator.RequirementsConstruction estimating: 5 years (Preferred)Preference will be given to candidates with a Bachelor's degree in a related field (Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture).Job Type: Full-timeBenefits:Medical InsuranceDental InsuranceVision Insurance401(k)401(k) matchingPaid time offReferral programWork Location: In personThe Company does not provide immigration or work visa sponsorship.
