The start date is as soon as possible. The duration of the position is 13 weeks. The shifts are nights, working 4x12 hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30. Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:1. Candidates must have at least 2 years of experience. First-time travelers are not accepted. Weekend work is required unless specified otherwise in the schedule. Certifications required are ACLS and BLS. There is no call required for this position. Floating within the hospital to other ICU units is required. Candidates are not floated to sister hospitals. Block schedules are not accommodated unless stated otherwise. Local candidates are accepted. There are restrictions for time off in November and December, with a requirement to work 2 of 3 holidays. The unit cares for post-operative cardiac and thoracic surgery patients as well as cardiomyopathy patients needing mechanical circulatory support. Experience with IV starts, pulmonary artery lines, vent management, IABP, Impellas, and post-operative care is required. The average daily census is between 20-24 patients, with 24 beds available. References from previous supervisory positions are required.
