Our team helps young people heal, strengthen family relationships, develop healthy coping skills, and prepare for successful transitions. About the RoleAs the LGBTQ Therapist, you will provide individual, group, and family therapy to a caseload of six or more LGBTQIA+ youth living in or transitioning from the Lakewood Group Home.Using trauma-informed and identity-affirming practices, you will help young people explore their identities, strengthen relationships, and work toward their treatment goals. This is a great opportunity for a therapist passionate about providing creative, culturally responsive care to LGBTQIA+ youth and families. What You'll DoProvide individual, group, and family therapy while developing and monitoring individualized treatment plans.Support LGBTQIA+ youth with coming out, gender and identity exploration, relationships, trauma recovery, and other experiences shaped by their intersectional identities.Collaborate with families, treatment teams, DCFS, schools, courts, and community partners while completing all required clinical documentation. Who We're Looking ForRequired:Master's degree in Social Work or a related human services field.Current LSW or LPC license or ability to obtain licensure within three months of hire.Personal vehicle or access to a vehicle, valid Illinois driver's license, and proof of insurance.Ability to pass all required background checks and drug screenings.No history of child abuse or neglect.Preferred:Current LCSW or LCPC license.At least one year of experience in the same or a similar therapeutic role.Experience supporting LGBTQIA+ youth and families affected by trauma.Knowledge of adolescent development, trauma-informed care, minority stress, and strength-based practices. Position Requirements & Work EnvironmentThis is a full-time, onsite position at the Lakewood LGBTQ Group Home in Chicago. The role requires schedule flexibility and on-call availability for cases in crisis. Responsibilities include home visits and transporting youth in an agency or personal vehicle.The position also requires the ability to kneel, stand, and participate in protective interventions when necessary. Training and ongoing certification in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention will be provided.
