The Shop Laborer supports the production of vacuum-formed plastic and composite parts by performing assembly, deburring, finishing, bonding, and fastening tasks in a manufacturing environment. This role follows detailed work instructions and quality standards to help ensure all components meet stringent aerospace requirements while contributing to general shop maintenance and organization.
Responsibilities
- Assemble vacuum-formed plastic and composite parts according to work instructions and specifications.
- Deburr and finish machined and formed components to meet quality and dimensional requirements.
- Bond and fasten parts using approved methods and materials as specified in production documentation.
- Use basic hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to complete daily tasks.
- Follow detailed work instructions, production travelers, and quality standards to ensure compliance with aerospace requirements.
- Inspect work for accuracy, completeness, and conformance to specifications, reporting any issues or defects.
- Assist in general shop maintenance, including cleaning work areas, organizing tools, and maintaining a safe and orderly production environment.
- Support overall production flow by performing a variety of tasks as needed in the shop.
- Adhere to all safety procedures and guidelines while working in the production facility.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and deadlines.
- Ability to use basic hand tools and power tools safely and correctly.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
- Willingness to learn and perform a variety of tasks within the shop.
- Ability to stand for extended periods during the shift.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as part of daily duties.
- 6 months of experience in manufacturing or aerospace (preferred but not required).
- Experience with general labor or production work in a shop or factory environment.
- Familiarity with deburring and finishing processes for machined or formed components.
- Comfort working with mechanical components and basic production equipment.

Work Environment
This role is based in a production facility focused on manufacturing vacuum-formed plastic and composite parts. Work is hands-on and physically active, involving extended periods of standing and handling parts and tools. The environment is shop-floor oriented, with regular use of hand tools, power tools, and production equipment, and requires adherence to safety procedures and organized, clean work practices.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Belgrade, MT.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $24.00 - $32.00/hr.
