About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Pediatric PACU Duration: 17 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (19:00 - 07:30) Experience: Minimum 2 years of pediatric PACU experience required License: RN license required Certifications: BLS and PALS AHA only Must-Have: Epic experience required Telemetry test must be passed prior to starting Description: This position requires working evening and night shifts. Shifts are 8, 10, or 12 hours long. Candidates must demonstrate flexibility in scheduling. There is no on-call requirement. The focus will be on independent peri-anesthetic management of complex surgical and procedural pediatric populations. Care will be provided to a varied case load of surgical and procedural patients. Previous charge experience is preferred. Familiarity with the Epic charting system is necessary. Experience with managing pediatric patients is essential. Travel experience is required. Candidates must have skills in end-tidal CO2 monitoring and airway assessment. Knowledge of medication management and emergency protocols is critical. The unit supports interdisciplinary collaboration, including teams for IV and respiratory services. Special equipment and procedures will be part of the role. Any traveler must be prepared to float as needed within the facility. A strict pass/fail telemetry test will be conducted. The passing criteria for both adult and pediatric segments must be met. Effective management of pediatric patients along with a warm and supportive atmosphere is integral to the role. Total care should enhance the pediatric patient’s healing process.
