Commercial Loan Specialist Supervisor

The Commercial Loan Supervisor provides daily supervision and oversight of the Commercial Loan Specialist team, coordinating commercial lending documentation and processing within strict regulatory guidelines. Provides outstanding customer service, collaborates closely with third‑party vendors (attorneys) and Bank departments such as Loan Servicing, Real Estate Review and Deposit Operations, and participates in commercial lending and bank‑wide projects.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES

Provides daily supervision and oversight of the Commercial Loan Specialist team. Holds regular team meetings, develops agenda and coordinates logistics. Provides training for loan documentation system. Responsible for regulatory changes and training, staying abreast of upcoming regulatory changes; serves as a member of the loan committee team and works with compliance regarding regulation changes. Conducts performance reviews and coaching, and trains new employees. Serves as backup to CLS: Provides backup support related to the Commercial Lending function: Commercial mortgages, term loans, lines of credit, commitment letters (with Lender input), loan documentation, customer correspondence, loan advances, faxes, scanning, photocopies of materials, mail screening and processing, purchasing of supplies and monitoring overdrafts for Lender approval. Maintains various database reports including the financial statement tracking report, pipeline report, UCC tracking, and overdrafts. Works with Lenders to collect missing loan documentation, follow up on missing items after loan closing and helps monitor and collect past‑due real estate taxes and tax escrow set up. Serves as a liaison between lenders, customers, attorneys, appraisers, internal departments, and other parties when lenders are unavailable or out of the office; responds to inquiries within area of authority and resolves problems as appropriate. Serves as a liaison between lenders and internal departments such as Loan Servicing, Deposit Operations, and Banking Centers to assist customer functions to help answer inquiries and streamline workflow; develops strong working relationships. Prepares loan documentation for review by the respective lender. Documentation includes loan notes, mortgages, security agreements, loan agreements, UCCs, borrowing authority, compliance documents, modifications, etc. Follows strict regulatory guidelines and remains up‑to‑date on bank loan policy and compliance issues. Assists lenders in processing loans by securing bids for appraisals and other contractual work through the Real Estate Review department.

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred or pursuing Bachelor’s Degree. Minimum of four years of financial services or office management experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial lending; previous management experience preferred. Understanding of the full cycle of the commercial loan process including lines of credit, term loans, mortgages, and loan documentation. Strong attention to detail, organizational and communication skills. Ability to work within strict deadlines. Ability to work independently. Must have cyber security awareness to protect the digital environment, the bank, and customers. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel and Word. Excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing. Ability to multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment.
