Job Description - MRI Technologist 2 - TGH Outpatient Imaging STC (2500037D) Job Description The MRI Tech 2 is accountable for performing Magnetic Resonance Imaging procedures to produce high quality diagnostic images. This role performs a variety of MRI procedures, including basic portable, fluoroscopy, extremity, chest, core MRI protocols, advanced level reconstructions, neurovascular MRA, biopsies, trauma alerts, and IV skills. The technologist also performs Q.A. maintenance and sterile contrast studies, administers radio‑frequency waves and magnetic energy for diagnostic purposes, and assists the manager with policy implementation, committee involvement, and department preceptorship. Independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative are required for all duties. The technologist performs all work in accordance with the mission, vision and values of Tampa General Hospital. Responsibilities The MRI Tech performs a variety of MRI procedures and utilizes MR technology to capture high‑resolution diagnostic images, performs quality‑assurance checks, maintains sterile technique for contrast studies, and administers IV contrast. They provide instructional support to staff and assist with procedural protocol development. Qualifications Completion of a 2‑year radiology technology program from an accredited school or certification in AMRIT. Registered with ARRT and eligible for MRI registry or AMRIT certification. BLS certification. One year progressive responsibility in an MRI diagnostic imaging environment.
