Sr. Upstream Processing Technician

Upstream Processing TechnicianWe are seeking a highly motivated Upstream Processing Technician to support the manufacture of commercial and clinical biologics. The candidate will adhere to Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) and perform a variety of functions related to upstream cell culture processes. These functions include the propagation of mammalian cell culture, aseptic cell culture operations, execution of large-scale production bioreactors, and conducting large scale filtration or centrifugation. This role offers a great opportunity to be involved in large-scale biological and chemistry pharmaceutical operations.ResponsibilitiesReview all area documents.Manage the WNS.Assist in manufacturing controls and calibrators, and complete batch records following cGMPs.Perform in-process assays using equipment such as spectrophotometers, pH meters, and clinical analyzers.Weigh, transfer, and mix chemicals as required.Perform product filtrations.Clean and steam steel tanks (CIP/SIP).Prepare glassware and steel tanks for sterilization in autoclave and operate the autoclave.Maintain lab equipment including pumps, pH meters, and flow meters.Keep department lead or manager updated on all issues.Monitor stocks of common lab supplies.Perform other job duties as required.Respond to emergency notifications.Work flexible hours, including weekends.Essential SkillsMinimum of 2 years of work experience in manufacturing, operation, production, lab setting, or related field.Bachelor's Degree in Science with a focus on aseptic technique, cell culturing, and pipetting.Experience in a cGMP environment and knowledge of cGMP practices.Proficiency in aseptic techniques, cleanroom operations, and chemical concepts.Subject Matter Expertise in upstream processing steps.Additional Skills & QualificationsPreferred: 6 months of experience in a GMP regulated environment.Preferred: 4-year STEM degree.Work EnvironmentThis position requires working in cleanroom and aseptic suites, where you must be willing to gown up in a full gowning suit including bodysuit, gloves, hair and beard nets, face covers, and safety glasses. The work schedule consists of rotating 10-hour shifts, working 40 hours a week, with a specific two-week rotation. You will need to be able to lift a minimum of 25 lbs independently and stand for 80% of the shift. Note that makeup, jewelry, nail polish, cologne, perfume, scented lotions, or hair care products are prohibited.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saint Louis, MO.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $30.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
