A well-established manufacturer with multiple U.S. plants is adding a Shipping and Receiving Manager to lead outbound and inbound logistics at a growing Southeast Kansas facility. This site is scaling its shipping volume, and this manager owns getting product out the door on time, loaded correctly, and documented cleanly. You will lead a small team, set the loading standard on flatbed and stepdeck freight, and be the on-site decision maker who keeps a rising shipping schedule moving. For a shipping leader who wants room to build and grow a team as the site expands, this is a chance to own the function, not just run it.

• Anticipated $65K–$80K, based on experience

• 1st shift, generally 7:00am to 3:30pm, Monday–Friday; overtime required

OVERVIEW

• Own on-time outbound shipping for a growing manufacturing site, inbound receiving, and the accuracy of both in the ERP
• Lead and develop a shipping and receiving team, holding it to clear, consistent, direct accountability
• Set and enforce the loading standard: staging, preloading, and load patterns that make freight fit and ship safely on flatbed and stepdeck trailers
• Manage carrier relationships day to day: rates, scheduling pickups and deliveries, and acting as the escalation point with local carriers
• Produce accurate shipping documentation for domestic and international freight, including bills of lading, packing lists, and commercial invoices
• Track site KPIs and report results monthly to logistics leadership
• Coordinate across production, sales, procurement, and project management so orders are staged and ready when the truck arrives

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional logistics or supply chain coursework a plus
• 2 to 4 years recent experience creating bills of lading and international shipping documents (commercial invoices, packing lists)
• Strongly Preferred — 5 to 7 years leading a shipping and receiving or logistics team, ideally in a manufacturing environment
• Strongly Preferred — Hands-on experience directing the loading of flatbed and stepdeck trailers, including staging and load patterns
• 5 to 7 years working in an ERP system; Microsoft Dynamics 365 experience a plus
• 2 to 4 years using KPIs to manage and report on a shipping or logistics operation
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Proven people leader: builds, empowers, and grows a team and makes the daily call without waiting to be told
