Pediatric Dental Receptionist

We are an upcoming pediatric dental office in Crofton, MD hiring a part-time receptionist. We are looking for a personable, polite and friendly dental receptionist to ensure that our patients have a pleasant experience right from their first phone call or entry into our practice to their exit out. Ultimately, a top-performing dental receptionist will perform all duties in a manner that ensures the efficient running of the dental practice. Past experience is helpful but not required. Spanish-speaking applicants are welcome. Dental Receptionist Responsibilities include but is not limited to: Greeting and welcoming patients to the practice. Scheduling, rescheduling, or canceling appointments as needed. Assisting patients to fill out information forms and answering patient's questions or referring to the dentist or assistants. Preparing patients' charts and daily schedules for the dental staff- which include retrieval of referrals, consent forms and all required documents for treatment. Updating patient records and documenting recent treatments and procedures. Scheduling follow-up appointments and providing telephonic reminders or confirmations. Learning about the difference dental insurances and their policies Communicating with dental insurance providers to determine if patients are required to make co-payments. Verifying methods of payment and collecting payments as needed. Performing general office duties, such as answering telephones, photocopying, filing, and faxing. Phone communication with hospital staff, pediatricians or medical specialist on operating room arrangements and appointments. Aid in the smooth running of the dental office. Maintaining the cleanliness and order of the reception and facility. High school diploma or GED. Certification in office administration, medical administration, or related fields is advantageous. Proven experience working in a dental office. Sound knowledge of dental terminology. Proficient in dental practice management software (Open Dental) is advantageous. Speaking a second language such as Spanish is advantageous. Working knowledge of general administrative practices. Exceptional organizational skills.
