Project ManagerA well-established mechanical contractor is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee commercial HVAC and plumbing projects across Northern California. The company specializes in design-build mechanical construction, fabrication, service, and special projects for complex commercial environments including life science, advanced technology, healthcare, and institutional facilities.This role is ideal for someone with a strong technical background who can manage projects from preconstruction through closeout while coordinating closely with field operations, engineering, and clients. A Mechanical Engineering degree is required for this position.Key ResponsibilitiesManage commercial HVAC and plumbing projects from preconstruction through closeoutCoordinate schedules, budgets, subcontractors, and field operationsReview MEP drawings, specifications, and design-build scopesManage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentationWork closely with engineering, fabrication, and field teams throughout project executionSupport budgeting, forecasting, procurement, and cost trackingCoordinate with owners, consultants, and subcontractors to maintain project schedules and qualityParticipate in design-build coordination and preconstruction planningTrack project financials and maintain overall project profitabilitySupport project closeout including punch lists, as-builts, O&Ms, and turnover documentationProject TypesLife science and laboratory facilitiesCommercial and institutional buildingsAdvanced technology and specialized facilitiesDesign-build HVAC and plumbing systemsSpecial projects and tenant improvementsRequirementsBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required5+ years of experience in mechanical construction project managementStrong experience with commercial HVAC systems requiredPlumbing and piping experience preferredDesign-build project experience strongly preferredFamiliarity with Revit, Bluebeam, and construction management softwareStrong understanding of MEP systems, scheduling, and project financialsAbility to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specificationsStrong leadership, communication, and coordination skillsCompensation & BenefitsMedical, dental, and vision insurance401(k)Paid holidays and PTOLong-term growth within a design-build mechanical contractorStrong company culture focused on safety, training, and long-term developmentPartial ESOP
