Senior Strategic Category Analyst

Micron Technology is seeking a Senior Strategic Category Analyst to drive analytics, data collection, and insight generation that supports the organization’s profitability and cost‑down goals. Responsibilities Lead cross‑functional initiatives with category teams and analysts. Develop and implement actionable insights that enable the category team to achieve business objectives. Analyze sophisticated business problems and issues using data from internal and external sources to provide insight to decision‑makers. Develop and implement cost objectives and plans to meet overall construction project cost targets. Monitor cost performance across key dimensions, including the overall project and critical areas. Provide oversight to team members to ensure data integrity and accessibility. Identify and analyze cost irregularities, patterns, and trends to locate influences and recommend solutions. Lead external market intelligence analysis, problem‑solving, benchmarking, and solution development. Collect and analyze financial data for construction related to procurement and supply chain operations to guide sourcing decisions. Utilize PowerBI and other data visualization tools to track procurement metrics, build dashboards, and generate spend and saving reports for internal stakeholders. Qualifications Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Construction Management, or a closely related field plus 2 years of experience in a Senior Strategic Category Analyst role, OR a Bachelor’s degree in a related field plus 5 years of progressive post‑baccalaureate experience. Experience developing and implementing cost objectives and plans for construction projects. Skill in analyzing construction categories using internal and external data to inform decision‑making. Proficiency in monitoring cost performance across key project dimensions. Background in creating and implementing continuous improvement frameworks for cost analysis and competitive cost negotiations. Strong analytical capabilities to identify and analyze cost irregularities and trends. Experience collecting and analyzing financial data related to procurement and supply chain operations. Ability to use PowerBI and other data visualization tools for tracking procurement metrics and reporting.
