Shift Type: Nights, 12-hour shifts, 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM, every other weekend (Fri/Sat nights), first to float

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $88 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide empathetic, expert care to mothers and newborns throughout labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum
• Monitor fetal heart rates and maternal vital signs using Cerner and Fetal Link, responding quickly to any changes
• Assist with low- and high-risk deliveries, including supporting Level III NICU transfers when needed
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including laborists, OB techs, and respiratory therapists to ensure safe outcomes
• Educate and empower new parents on newborn care, feeding, and recovery
• Document accurately in the EMR and maintain compliance with California staffing ratios

Qualifications

• Active RN license in California (or ability to obtain before start)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Labor and Delivery experience
• Current BLS, ACLS, NRP, and Advanced Fetal Monitoring certifications
• Adv-AWHONN preferred
• COVID vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions may apply)
• Proficiency with Cerner, Fetal Link, and Phillips FHM

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of fetal heart monitoring and interpretation
• Comfortable with high-risk deliveries and postpartum care
• Experience with Cerner EMR and Fetal Link surveillance systems
• Teamwork and clear communication in a busy unit with 12 L&D beds, 19 postpartum beds, 2 ORs, and 1 PACU
• Understanding of California nurse-to-patient ratios
• Ability to pass a dysrhythmia test on day one (Pass/Fail)
