Security Officer Food Distributor – Central Islip, NY Position Type: Part Time Pay Rate: $18.00 / Hour Job Schedule Saturday: 08:00 AM – 04:00 PM Sunday: 08:00 AM – 04:00 PM What You’ll Do Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and/or drivers by following site‑specific procedures, access protocols, and appropriate emergency response activities at a food and beverage distribution location. Respond to incidents, alarms, and/or unusual activity in a calm, problem‑solving manner, documenting observations and reporting security‑related concerns to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership. Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols throughout loading areas, parking lots, warehouse perimeters, and other assigned parts of the location to help identify unauthorized activity and/or operational concerns. Monitor entry and exit activity for vendors, deliveries, and/or visitors, verify credentials or authorizations as directed by site policies, and help support orderly movement throughout the location. Assist with incident reporting, shift pass‑down communication, and other assigned duties related to security‑related procedures, customer service, and/or site operations. Minimum Requirements Comfortable using a computer or tablet (preferred). Limited on‑site facilities such as portable toilets and rustic guard shacks. Access control and badge experience (preferred). Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
