Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Oncology Clinic Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: Minimum 1 year of RN experience in oncology License: Current license required Certifications: BLS, WI/Compact License Must-Have: - Experience working in oncology - Ability to triage patient phone calls - Proficient in entering physician orders, including labs and diagnostics - Knowledge in following up on treatment plans and coordinating care - Experience in patient education regarding chemotherapy Description: The clinic nurse is responsible for triaging patient phone calls. The nurse will answer My Chart messages. They will enter physician orders, including labs and diagnostics. The role requires following up on treatment plans and coordinating diagnostics for patients. The nurse will educate patients during chemotherapy talks. Close collaboration with infusion and radiation teams is essential for coordinated patient care. The nurse will work directly with physicians to support patient care and assist advanced practice providers. They will track INR patients with labs and medications. The clinic nurse will also follow up with iron infusion patients. Oncology experience is needed for this position. The clinic has a fast-paced environment. The daily census is approximately 45 patients, with around 45 visits per day. There are multiple interdisciplinary teams available for support, including IV teams, physical therapy, and social services.
