Contract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a 16-bed emergency department serving an average of 65 patients per day across all age groups
• Manage and administer common ER drips including vasopressors, insulin, and other critical infusions
• Perform and interpret cardiac monitor strips independently, as no monitor technicians are on unit
• Assess and treat patients presenting with diagnoses including sepsis, CHF, pneumonia, abdominal pain, and psychiatric emergencies
• Collaborate with 24/7 ER physicians and mid-level providers to deliver timely, high-quality emergency care
• Draw labs, assist with procedures, and work within a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4 alongside PCT support staff

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license (or confirmation that the application process has been initiated)
• Minimum of 2 years of emergency room nursing experience
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
• Ability to read and independently interpret cardiac monitor strips
• Ability to pass a drug screen; facility maintains a drug-free campus policy

Preferred Experience / Skills

• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification preferred
• Experience working in a separate triage area and managing psychiatric or suicidal patients in an emergency setting
• Familiarity with respiratory equipment including ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen systems
