Senior Accountant

Senior Accountant (JN -072026-427236) Boca Raton, Florida Salary: USD115000 - USD130000 per year Senior Accountant / Assistant to Controller Position Summary This role will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the organization's financial records while supporting month end and year-end close processes, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). This role works closely with leadership and cross-functional departments to provide financial analysis, improve processes, and support business objectives. Key Responsibilities Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Manage month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations. Perform detailed balance sheet and income statement account reconciliations. Analyze financial results and investigate variances to budget, forecast, and prior periods. Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities. Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules and providing requested documentation. Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies. Review and improve accounting processes, internal controls, and procedures. Assist with fixed asset accounting, depreciation schedules, and asset tracking. Support cash management activities, including bank reconciliations. Partner with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and Operations teams to ensure accurate financial reporting. Manage and mentor accounting staff and provide guidance on accounting best practices. Participate in special projects and ad hoc financial analyses as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. 5+ years of progressive accounting experience. Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting principles. Experience with month-end close, general ledger accounting, and account reconciliations. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and financial analysis. Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, Sage, SAP or similar platforms. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines. Preferred Experience Public accounting experience preferred but not required. Experience in manufacturing, real estate, construction, or corporate accounting environments. Experience preparing financial statements and supporting audits.
