OPERATING ENGINEER (3RD CLASS) (CLASS CODE 2410)

Skilled mechanical work in the operation and maintenance of heating and/or air conditioning and accessory equipment in a public building; and related work as required. Possession of a 3rd Class Boilers and a 3rd Class Air Conditioning License issued by the Board of Examiners of Operating Engineers of the City of New Orleans (Room 7E05, City Hall). Experience in troubleshooting and servicing air conditioning units, including all types of control circuits, is preferred but not required. Prior to appointment, the hiring agency is required to verify the applicant’s 3rd Class Boilers and 3rd Class Air Conditioning License claims. If selected for hire, applicants must provide original documents of their qualifying credentials to the hiring agency prior to their start date.
