Sr. Medical Director, Rheumatology - US Remote

Fortrea seeks a Senior Medical Director with rheumatology expertise and cell/gene therapy background to provide medical leadership across clinical development phases. The remote role involves clinical trial oversight, client engagement, business development support, and medical strategy guidance for proposed and ongoing programs.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-level medical and clinical trial subject matter expertise across regional or global programs
- Serve as lead or regional physician for clinical trials, overseeing medical monitoring activities and quality deliverables
- Support business development by shaping clinical strategy for proposals, bids, and client discussions
- Review and revise protocols, case report forms, training materials, and clinical trial reports
- Participate in investigator meetings and site initiation visits as a key client-facing medical representative
Requirements
- MD degree with board certification in internal medicine
- Specialization in rheumatology and autoimmune disease experience
- 3+ years pharmaceutical/CRO drug development and clinical research experience
- Cell and gene therapy expertise in autoimmune diseases preferred
- Clinical trial medical monitoring or CRO/pharma development experience preferred
- Strong scientific communication and client-facing presentation skills
- Full professional proficiency in English
Compensation: $240,000-$340,000 USD base
